Bahmni + SNOMED CT is a joint initiative that has developed a SNOMED CT module for integration with Bahmni's open source Electronic Medical Record.

​

Serving the clinical terminology needs of lower digitally mature countries, Bahmni + SNOMED CT delivers access to SNOMED CT, without a fee.  

​

Bahmni + SNOMED CT demonstrates how SNOMED CT's standardized clinical terms can be used by open source EMRs for efficient exchange of clinical information among disparate healthcare systems.

The Future of Bahmni + SNOMED CT​

The next phase of the SNOMED CT module will deliver:

  • Enhanced Clinical Decision Support use-cases for drug-to-drug interactions and drug dosage checking

  • Improved HL7 FHIR compatibility, integration with a new micro FHIR terminology server

  • Integration with the SNOMED CT data analytics tool, and,

  • Integrated WHO ICD-10 reporting capability.
