The National Reform Commission on Public Health - appointed by the cabinet - and the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand has assigned the responsibility to the Thai Health Information Standards development center (THIS), Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI) to act as the point of contact for SNOMED CT developments and licenses, thus demonstrating the National Release Centre. 

THIS is the research and development center for digital health and health information standards in the HSRI. HSRI is the health systems knowledge creation and health systems research management arm of Ministry of Public Health Thailand. THIS mission is to develops and facilitates the development of Thailand health information system standards that are compatible with international standards and enable health information exchanges and interoperability with the ultimate goal of better health systems. 

THIS coordinates the Thailand’s participation in and contribution to SNOMED International activities. THIS coordinates a national program aimed at increasing and stimulating the awareness, knowledge, practices and use of SNOMED CT and other health data standards, e.g. Thai Medicines Terminology (TMT)-Thailand SNOMED CT extension, Thai Medical Laboratory Terminology (TMLT), to name a few. For healthcare organizations and companies inside the Thailand THIS acts as the National Release Centre for SNOMED CT (sub-) licenses. 

As Thailand's SNOMED National Release Centre, THIS is responsible for distributing and managing SNOMED CT in Thailand, and develops and maintains content specific to the Thailand.
