The Slovak Republic's representative to SNOMED International is the National Health Information Center.

The Slovak Republic's representative to SNOMED International is the National Health Information Center (NHIC). NHIC is the state contributory organization established by the Ministry of Health of Slovak Republic. NHIC became a Member in November 2009 thus joining the international effort to develop, maintain and use SNOMED CT in healthcare systems.


The mission and the subject of the activities of NHIC in the Slovak Republic is to promote the use of IT systems in healthcare, to support and ensure the operation of implemented eHealth solutions, and to ensure a flexible information base for authorized persons. Because of that, NHIC also supports the introduction of ITC standards into the healthcare arena.
